Social Awareness Campaign
A Message On The Bridge
Background
Following the women-led protests in Iran, human rights groups worldwide have taken to the streets to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people. Although the Iranian community in Chicago has been active, their efforts have not gained media attention.
• Primary: Chicagoans and local human rights activists.
• Secondary: Iranian communities inside and outside of Iran.
• To raise awareness on the ongoing fight for liberty and the government's suppression.
• To enlighten the western society of the government propaganda.
• The main challenge is acting fast to keep up with what's happening in Iran.
• Also, there's not an established organization to raise awareness on behalf of the Iranian community in Chicago. All the activities have been done voluntarily and with very small budget.
• Western societies are more responsive about the women's' rights issues than human rights.
• To develop quick and informative social activities with minimal budget and effort and with maximum impact.
• Develop messaging in a form of installation and strategically placing it in areas with high terrific.
• Creating a video a sharing it on social media to maximize reach.
Campaign Overview
This campaign features an urban installation on the fences of a crossing bridge in a high-traffic area near Chicago O'Hare International Airport, displaying the powerful message "Stand With Iranian Women." Additionally, a video documenting the entire process is shared on social media to amplify the message.
